My
Personal Research Journey
After thinking about what topics to explore, I
finally decided to research aggression among children. Children
who experience frequent verbal aggression from parents exhibit higher rates of
physical aggression, delinquency, and interpersonal problems than other
children. This relationship is applies to
preschool, to both boys and girls. The
subtopic that I have chosen is, “How to handle aggression among boys in the
classroom?" Prior studies of
childhood aggression have demonstrated that, as a group, boys are more
aggressive than girls.
My
colleagues, all comments, suggestions, information and feedback on the topic
will be appreciated, so as to help me gain the knowledge that I need and I will
provide the same to you all in return as we work collaboratively to achieve our
goals. My personal reason for choosing this topic is because aggression is not
just about children acting terribly in the classroom but it’s a wide matter
that I believe has to do with both internal and external factors. I am pleased
and impressed with the level of guidance being provided and hope that the
course will be beneficial yet not stressful to all. I hope to conclude with the best practices in school
settings for effectively preventing and responding to incidents of overt
aggression within the context of social and emotional learning interventions
and positive behavioral interventions and supports.
